All Girl Summer Fun Band-4 song 7"

All Girl Summer Fun Band is in my opinion, the last "90's sounding" twee pop band. You could say they're a twee pop super band, featuring members tons of west coast twee pop bands.

Sonically, it's like most 90's twee, guitar-based jangle pop with nice melodies.

Most of their other catalouge is easy to come by; that's why I posted their first 7" here. It came out in 1999.

Ripped at 320 here.

KDVS Fundraiser this week

The delay in posts brought to you by KDVS Fundraiser.

That's right, the lack of substancial posts in the immediate past was because the world's best (top 5) freeform stations, KDVS, is having its fundraiser!

We only have half our budget supported by the university of california, davis, so we got to raise the rest ourselves.

Please help out here: fundraiser.kdvs.org and donate! You can get a shirt, free cds/records, and more!

Also, feel free to help keep my show going here: https://fundraiser.kdvs.org/premiums/special/show/pearlydewdrops

THANKS! and i swear i'll get you something never ever seen on the internet after this WEEK FROM HELL IS OVER.

gracias.

The Valerie Project

This is one of the most beautiful band/recordings I have ever heard.

It's more of a collaboration/orchestra, but it doesn't really matter.

Here at shaded moontide (a good blog, if I may say so myself)

Cadallaca-Introducing

Alright, folks. I had a request for Cadallaca's first LP, Introducing. It came out in 1998 in between Sleater-Kinney's two albums, Dig Me Out and The Hot Rock. If you haven't figured it out by now, Cadallaca was a side project by Corin Tucker. However, I think they deserve a little more credit than that.

Musically, a little more light-hearted, with less guitar and more organ. Also, I think it's a little more melancholy, and less immedate (I think carrie was the reason sleater-kinney was so "bracing" even though Corin had the vocals) than Sleater-Kinney.

Also, in the light of Corin's new album, I'll post up all the heavens to betsy I have. I already posted the heartless martin cassette, so go back in my blog and you can find that.

Technically, this is unrelated, but I have a fair amount of Excuse 17 that I can upload as well.

Get Cadallaca-Introducing here at 320.

Corin Tucker is releasing a solo album!

Ok, ok, ok, breath.

Yes, it does appear that Corin Tucker is releasing a solo album sometime in/near October, because Kill Rock Stars told me so...

I also think I broke the record for number of times I said "no fucking way".

Let me say it again. NO FUCKING WAY! This is going to be a-maz-ing.

Apparently, Sara Lund (of unwound fame) and Seth Lorinczi from golden bears will also be appearing.

After scanning this article in the portland mercury, it seems to be an "acoustic" record. However she mentions that some of the songs will be "in the ballpark" of Sleater-Kinney. So perhaps she plugs that acoustic guitar in for a song or two? Who knows. I guess we'll have to wait till October. If I don't die first.
